You may have encountered Rola-IP when using a proxy service. In this blog, we’ll explore what Rola-IP was, how it worked, and how it helped users protect their online activity. Although Rola-IP is no longer available due to a recent shutdown, many users are now searching for alternatives. Don’t worry—we’ve compiled a list of the top three Rola-IP alternatives to help you maintain your internet privacy and unrestricted access.

What is Rola-IP?

Rola-IP was a proxy service designed to provide a range of IP options tailored to different user needs. It offered solutions for both individuals and businesses, enabling them to manage multiple online identities, enhance privacy, and bypass geographical restrictions. Rola-IP stood out for its reliability and variety of IP types, catering to diverse networking requirements.

What Did Rola-IP Offer?

Let's dive into the features that Rola-IP offers.

Before we continue, it’s important to note that Rola-IP was priced about 10 times higher than other proxy services with similar capabilities (like Proxyland). As you go through these features, consider whether they are unique enough to justify the premium cost.

Residential Proxies

Residential proxies use IP addresses from real devices, making them less detectable by spam filters. Rola-IP boasted an impressive pool of over 72 million IPs for their rotating residential proxies.

Sounds pretty incredible, right?

Rola-IP offered three types of residential proxies: static, rotating, and mobile.

  • Static Proxies: These proxies were fast but could potentially expose your data to miners over time. They were ideal if you needed a consistent IP address for business purposes.
  • Rotating Residential Proxies: These proxies provide an added layer of anonymity by constantly changing your IP. With a vast number of residential servers that didn’t share a subnetwork, it was like leaving a website and returning with a completely different IP.
  • Mobile Residential Proxies: Utilizing over 7 million mobile IPs, these proxies masked browsing requests on mobile devices across 3G and 4G networks.

Data Center Proxies

Data centre proxies used non-physical IP addresses created by data centres, independent of Internet Service Providers (ISPs). However, their similar IP patterns could lead to clogging and getting banned. Since these IPs weren’t from real devices, there was also a higher risk of being blacklisted on certain websites.

Automated Data Unblocker

Rola-IP claimed a 100% success rate with its automated data unblocker, thanks to advanced techniques like IP rotation, cookie management, and header adjustments. This feature was designed to ensure data access without restrictions.

Search Engine Crawler

The search engine crawler feature allowed users to gather essential data efficiently. Like other Rola-IP features, this one also promised a 100% success rate. However, while the crawler did deliver results, I’ve used other proxies with similar capabilities that were even more effective.

How Rola-IP Worked

Rola-IP worked by routing a user’s internet traffic through a proxy server, masking the original IP address with another to ensure privacy and access to region-locked content. Users could select different proxy types depending on their needs, such as web scraping, SEO data collection, social media management, or anonymous browsing. With easy configuration settings, Rola-IP proxies could be integrated into browsers or applications, allowing for seamless switching and uninterrupted operations.
