Common Mistakes on Instagram: Engaging and Engagement Routines

So we all know that Instagram is an ever-evolving platform, to put it lightly. There are constantly new updates, there's new advice, there's new tactics, and strategies for you to use to grow or to see success of the platform. And I totally get that would be super super confusing. I mean, sometimes it's confusing for me, and it's literally my job. I'm like immersed in this world, and even I find it difficult to keep up with what you should be doing on Instagram versus what you shouldn't be doing on Instagram. So I decided to come up with a list of the main mistakes that people are making on Instagram that I see every single day and to share them with you guys so that you can stop making them on your own channel.

Instagram Growth Tactics: Hashtags

The next one is all about hashtags and luckily for you I've recently uploaded a video where I actually break down exactly how you should be using hashtags in 2022, 2023, and beyond. So with that in mind, I am going to link to up here because if anything I'm about to say either doesn't make sense or just shocks you to your core, you know then I recommend watching that video because it's going to break it down in a lot more detail. But the main mistake in relation to hashtags that people are making is that people are pushing to use 30 hashtags in their posts and that is leading to them using irrelevant hashtags. So the real core mistake here is using irrelevant vague hashtags that have nothing to do with your content.

Effective Instagram Captions

Okay so my first controversial tip of this video, yo actually no tell a lie I actually think the fur the first tip that I gave you was also a bit controversial you know I like to say things just to rock the boat to annoy you ever so slightly but the it comes from Love so I'm not saying these things just to really throw a spanner in there and just to ruin your day. I'm saying these things because I know that it's a mistake that you're making and I know that there are better things you can do which are going to help you reach your goals. Okay so this mistake is ignoring your captions. I know I know I told you it was gonna piss you off. I mean I don't know I don't know what you want me to say ignoring your captions look I get it you hate writing captions I get it it's so frustrating it stops you from posting sometimes I get it I've been there.

Avoiding Watermarks on Instagram Reels

Next mistake having watermarks on your reels this is an interesting one because I gave this tip ages ago and I got a lot of comments being like that's not true it's definitely true guys this tip is definitely a thing so when I'm talking about watermarks I'm talking about when you've got logos on your video content. So for example on TikTok if you use TikTok to edit your videos and then you post it on TikTok and you download it there will be a TikTok logo on your content and that is a watermark it's the same thing for Instagram reels. If you download a reel that you've already created and posted then there's going to be a watermark on it right now the mistake that people are making is that they're repurposing their TikTok content but in a way that results in them having the TikTok watermark on it so they are quite simply downloading their TikToks that they've already posted uploading it onto Instagram as a reel and they have the TikTok watermark on it this is a problem because Instagram is quite clearly competing with TikTok I mean I don't think that's news we all know that right they are competing with TikTok they do not want you to create content on TikTok and then just share it on Instagram as an afterthought they want you to create the content on Instagram.

Including Call to Actions in Instagram

Okay so the final mistake that people are making on Instagram is not including call to actions also known as CTAs so call to actions is like an old-school marketing term it's like the most basic form of marketing in the sense that you basically ask your audience to do something as a result of watching your content right. So if you ever watch an advert or you see an advert online you're always going to see that it's going to end with some form of call to action it's always going to ask you to do something. This is a super important thing for you to use in your Instagram content and a lot of people sleep on it right they don't see the significance of including call to actions in their captions or at the end of their content and let me explain to you why it's so important that you use quarter actions. If someone has
