Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel! In today's video, I'm going to be exposing a few Instagram growth tips that I don't necessarily believe in, nor do I think that they work anymore. There might be some that may have worked previously in the past, but I definitely don't think they work now. I think they're outdated, and I don't think a lot of you should be trying them. So, being pretty ballsy in this video, I'm totally okay with you disagreeing with me if you've tried them, you still use them, and it works for you. Great. But from my personal experience, these are outdated tips that I don't necessarily recommend that people should be still using in this day and age.

The Pitfalls of Commenting on Instagram

Let's just get straight to it. So, the first one that I want to tackle is all about commenting. Okay, bear with me. What I hear a lot of kind of websites and people recommend to others is that people should be commenting on really big popular accounts. They should be commenting on their posts, and they should be doing it a certain amount of times a day. Or, they should be commenting on really great posts which have come under specific hashtags a certain amount of times a day. Now, do not get me wrong. I thoroughly believe that commenting on those posts and everyone else's post is super, super powerful. And I also understand why people recommend that they do this. The issue I have with this tip though is that people often fail to disclose that this tactic does not work if you are not sharing good comments.

The Importance of Authentic Stories on Instagram

The second one is all around showing up on your stories every day. So, a bit of context. The reason why people say to show up on your stories every day is because first of all, there are a lot of people who actually spend more time on their stories or surfing their stories than they do on their feed. So, there's actually a lot of people who will primarily see your story content over any feed content that you share, which I always find really interesting. That's one reason. Another reason is if you're using your stories correctly, you'll be using your stories to share behind-the-scenes content and like really raw, just, you know, authentic, that word again, content about your life and what you're doing.

Evolving Instagram Hashtag Strategies

So, the next one that I want to talk about is this tip or piece of advice or guidance where people say to post several times a day. I know people are going to disagree with me here, and that's totally fine. But my personal experience, so I'm literally talking from a tried and tested standpoint here, right? I've tried this multiple times. Posting several times a day does not lead to more growth, nor does it lead to more engagement. In fact, on every single occasion that I've trialed this method, I have seen a significant decrease in my engagement, and my views, and generally, my overall growth.

Caution Against Competition Loops on Instagram

Okay, so the final one is all around competition loops or like competition loop giveaways. What are they actually called? I feel like they're called competition loops. This is a super old-school one. However, I got a DM from a company asking me to take part in one the other day, and I was like, 'Are these still a thing?' So, I thought I've got it included in this video, right? For those of you who don't know what a competition loop is, it's basically a competition which will be hosted by one particular company.
