Now the first tip that I'm gonna give you is to join a Facebook group. Now, we've gotta be careful about this tip, right? Because there's several ways that this one could be used in the wrong way. The main way that people use this wrong is by joining Facebook groups which are specifically created for YouTubers. Now, I know that might sound weird. I'm not saying don't join those groups, but what you will notice is that a lot of those groups which are specifically created for YouTubers are basically spam. It's just this huge place where everyone's just sharing all their videos all the time and everyone's just saying things like sub for sub, view for view, friend for friends. That one's not real, it might as well be though. Like, that's what those YouTube-centric groups on a whole, there are some exceptions, that's what those groups are all about. And what happens and the reason why they don't work very well is one because sub for sub and view for view are fake engagement. It's never going to help you grow. You don't want dead subscribers, you don't want fake views. So that's one, but another reason is that it's not targeted enough. They are literally groups created for all YouTubers regardless of the niche, which means that when you are dropping your video links in there, the chances of your video being picked up and seen by someone who is actually interested in your content is super small. Because the thing what's tying you together is an interest in YouTube, not an interest in beauty or gaming or fashion. The only exception to this rule is if you, like me, create content about YouTube growth, in which case that's probably a good place for you to drop your YouTube links because everyone in that group cares about YouTube growth. Do you see where I'm coming from?
So let's stop lecturing and talk about what groups you should actually be joining to help promote your channel. You need to be finding groups which are specifically related to your content niche. So if you are all about female entrepreneurship, then you need to join a group what is about female entrepreneurship. If you are about beauty, if you are about fashion, if you are about rock climbing, if you are about finance, all of that really great niche stuff that you like to create content on, you need to find a group which is related to that niche. By finding that group, you know that you are going to be speaking to a whole load of people who are interested in your content. They may not be people who have YouTube accounts yet, they may not be people who go on YouTube a lot, that's okay. Because it's more important that you target people who are interested in your topic than just targeting people who are on YouTube, right?
Now, the next tip that I want to give you is to utilize your other platforms. You may have heard me talk about this tip before, but today I'm going to share a few different points of views on it. Right, so this is probably the easiest tip yet. It is the one what people miss out on the most. I like to specifically do mine on my Instagram platform. I think Instagram and YouTube go really well together. There are a lot of people on Instagram who are also big fans of YouTube.
Now, the main tip I want to give you today is to put a link to your YouTube across all of your platforms. I recommend grouping them and using at least three different entry mechanics and showing them like steps. So step one, comment below. Step two, share a screenshot of this video on your Instagram stories. And step three, like this video. Position it that way, and that's what's going to make it really easy for people to digest, follow the steps, and enter your giveaway. And that is going to help promote your channel.
