Okay, first project we're going to talk about is Story Protocol. They are an IP blockchain dedicated to solve intellectual property issues in the real world. This has to do with real-world assets and, of course, with the rise of AI creating new issues with IP theft. I've heard a lot of Twitter spaces talking about this and the biggest solution to, well, how do you authenticate and verify original content that is not tampered by AI is blockchain, right? Because with blockchain, you can timestamp the data. But the problem with that right now is there's no blockchain that has a tailor-made solution for solving this issue. This is where Story Protocol comes in, where they are building their own IP-focused blockchain, and this is very impressive. I just actually found out about this today, Martin you told me this. They raised 140 million to date, putting their valuation at 2.25 billion, and the round was led by a16 Z with participation from Polychain. These are really big VC guys, massive, massive VC guys, and these are serious money that they're looking into.
Enough of the backstory, let's talk about the airdrop. So today 15 hours ago, their public test net went live. This is called ilad, their first public test net. Will there be an airdrop? Now the team has not directly announced that there is going to be an airdrop, but if you scroll down in this thread, they're saying that Story is not for Farmers. We appreciate and cherish real community members giving real feedback on real problems. We will always take a strong stance against airdrop farmer civils, automated activity, and other Zero Sum participants who will not be rewarded. This implies that there will be rewards for participating in this protocol.
So right now what you're going to want to do, the call to action for playing with the airdrop, is use their public test net, and this is time-sensitive. Even though today is day one because if you click onto this link, it'll take you to mint.story.foundation, where you'll mint your first Story IP asset. But this will only be available in the next 48 hours. So as of right now, we have about 30 hours left in order to mint the IP asset. Once you go to mint.story.foundation, you just do the socials then once you're down here, you're going to need test net tokens in order to mint the IP, so you click get tokens. It'll go straight here, and then put your EVM address and they will add the ilad test net into your Metamask. So just approve that. Now, here comes the problem though because very time-sensitive this is congested as of right now. I'm not able to mint my IP asset. Also, you Martin and also a lot of the feedback from the community was that their transaction failed so don't worry about that okay because usually that's what happens on the first day. The only thing that you need to be worried about is if tomorrow, when is tomorrow, August 29 if they still having issues with not being able to mint the IP asset then we're going to be at the mercy of the team to see if they will extend this deadline or not. Yeah, so I think as long as your transaction is queued up, you're just waiting for your transaction in that block to be validated. So that's the issue with new test Nets coming out and especially with flooded with you know hundreds of thousands of people trying to M the ipset. Okay, awesome, clear and straightforward. Mhm.
Now, in terms of what else to do for Story Protocol. So they have their own NFT collection on OpenSea. This was created in March. I don't know if this has anything to do with airdrop. I myself do not own one but I've heard people talking about how getting one could give you an edge over the others. But if you're going to be buying this, only buy this if it's a small value for you.
