Hello, hello! The time has come for me to do another Instagram updates video. Now, it hasn't even been that long since my last one, but the amount of updates I have in this video is significant. This is probably the longest one, maybe not in length. I don't know. It's definitely the video where I have the most updates for sure, so get ready because some of them are like pretty, pretty game-changing. I'm gonna jump right into the updates, but before I do that, if you like videos like this, then please hit the Subscribe button because I upload content every single week. Let's get to it.
Okay, so the first update has not been rolled out to everyone yet. However, Instagram has officially announced it, which means that it's definitely in testing and it should be available to a lot of people hopefully soon. Now, this update is an in-app scheduling tool for Instagram. So essentially, what this will allow you to do is upload some content, write your caption, do all that fun stuff, and then schedule for it to go live at a later date. A lot of people will be like, "Yay, rejoice at this update," and they have every reason to be happy about it because it's a very useful update.
Next update for you: Instagram is testing this - another test, guys. Instagram is testing music in profiles. What they're testing is the ability for us to add a song to our profile page. So it's literally going to be a song to our bio. What it's giving, guys, is MySpace. How many of you are old enough to remember the good old days of MySpace and having your favorite song on your MySpace page? Because that is what it is giving.
Okay, so another one: Instagram has officially announced their brand new Creator portfolio. This is an exciting one. Again, it's an update that I cannot promise that you have access to right now, but Instagram has officially announced it, so I'm guessing we're going to have access to it soon. What it essentially is, is a Media Kit. So in case you don't know what a Media Kit is, a Media Kit is like a CV or a resume for creators and influencers. It's a short document which allows creators and influencers to showcase who they are, their personality, their best work, the brands they've worked with in the past, their key statistics, and they share them with potential brand partners as a way for the brand partner to have a nice holistic view of the creative social media channels and how their content performs.
Okay, so another one: Instagram is testing a 4x5 home feed. Now, if you don't know what I mean by that, I'm basically referring to the ratio of the photos and the reel covers that we see on Instagram profiles when we are browsing different people's profiles. At the moment, when you go into someone's Instagram page, you see all of their content and all of their reel covers displayed to you in a one by one format.
Next update: This one has already come to a lot of profiles, and it is that you can now add multiple links to your bio. So I actually polled my audience on this recently because I suddenly got this update, and I had never seen it before. I hadn't even heard about it before, which is weird for me because that is my job.
This feature is in testing. This is like a leaked one. Instagram hasn't announced it yet, so we don't know if this is going to happen or not. But it's essentially a change to how we navigate content on Instagram. So what they're exploring, at least at the moment, is adding a dropdown menu to everyone's profile pages. So at the moment, how our content is organized is under tabs.
Alright, another top-secret update that has been leaked that may not come into fruition, but I'm going to tell you about anyway, are these achievement badges that Instagram is working on, which basically just gives you a pat on the back if you're doing something good. Like if you're creating really great reels, you get this achievement badge which will say something like "trendsetter" or "creative streak," which is basically telling you like, "Hey buddy, you're doing a great job, keep going."
Okay, very last one: potentially the most significant one. Instagram is testing a feature which will allow creators to directly tell Instagram what their content is about. This is called Topics, and I want to take a second to shout out to the Creator who DM'd me with a screenshot of this update because I didn't know that this update had existed until she had DM'd me, and for the love of me, I cannot find your message again, so I'm so sorry that I haven't followed up on our conversation if you're watching this, but thank you.
