5 Reasons Walmarts Affiliate Program is a JOKE
  1. Low Commission Rates
  2. Outdated Website
  3. Low Percentage of Commissioned Products
  4. Delayed Payouts
  5. Short Cookie Duration
  6. FAQ

Low Commission Rates

The first reason is these payouts are just laughable, and I'm gonna have my, uh, I'm gonna edit some images in of this. But it they pay zero percent on most products. They list it out. They pay one percent commission on products through Walmart on only, you know, and I'll go into the other reasons why one percent commission is way, way below what average commission rates should be. I mean, even Amazon is paying around five percent commission. ClickBank, the average commission just to give you an idea, ClickBank pays out over a quarter of a billion dollars per year to affiliates.

Outdated Website

And the other thing that was laughable about their affiliate program is two years, and they haven't updated their website. I mean, I just looked at their website, you scroll down the bottom, you see a 2019. Is this really one of the largest companies in the world, and they haven't been able to update their affiliate program in two years? I mean, that to me just says it's they're not taking it seriously. Uh, it's ridiculous.

Low Percentage of Commissioned Products

Now this blew my mind, and I did a little research. I took out my calculator. I did my calculations. I figured out how many products there were, and the result astounded me. Come here, come here, come here. Walmart is only giving any commissions. They pay zero percent commission on most products. Other products, the ones they do pay commissions on, it's only point, it's zero point zero zero four percent of their total inventory they pay commissions on. I mean, is it even worth it to market this company at this point, right?

Delayed Payouts

The fourth reason is that payouts take over a month. Standard in affiliate marketing is about one to two weeks, just to give you an idea. One to two weeks. When I was doing affiliate marketing, when I was really pounding, you know, tens of thousands of dollars a day, I negotiated with my affiliate networks to pay me every two days my commissions because I'm spending ads here.

Short Cookie Duration

And the fifth reason that Walmart's affiliate program just completely blows but is your cookies only last three days. Now, if you haven't been doing affiliate marketing for a while, you won't know what a cookie is, but a cookie means that if you encourage somebody to go to a website and they click on your link, it means that any purchase they make, if you send them to Walmart, you get credit for up to three days for any purchase they make.
